EFS certificate has expired

My efs certificate has expired and now my users cannot open any encrypted
fies on thier pc's. We can unencrypt and open but cannot encrypt.

I logged back into the doamin with the efsrecover account and it put another
certificate on the store but the problem stil exists.

How do I get the users to use the new certificate without losing access to
thier old documents.

You need to publish the newly enrolled certificate into the EFS Recovery GPO
in the Default Domain policy

Sorry to ask the same question a different way but this is important to me.

Will this allow the users to open the previously encrypted documents without
decrypting them first?

Also the new certificate has the same name as the oldone - will this ake a
difference?
