With my Spreadsheets many ordinary tasks are VERY SLOW. Such as when I expand
a column it takes about a minute to register. I am running office updates
now. Any other suggestions. THANK YOU!

Hi,
Problems occur when:
The spreadsheet is extremely large, 10mb +
Other applications are running in the background,
You have just played "Age of Empires" and now you are back
to your work - ram is chewed.
Too many formulas in spreadsheet have to recalculate when
any action is taken.
Links cause a drag.
Not enough ram - 200mb minimum with Excel 2000 +, and
system should be P3 + for excel 2000+

Hello: Thx for your help. But the PC is a p4 with 512, and I do not use any
other programs but outlook and excel. The file size for these files is less
than 100 KB, there are no formulas, and the files run fine on other PC's on
the network, which are actually much older.

We have the same problem with office power users:
1,6Mhz 1,5GB Ram
before using Excel 2000 the time for a change was not visible,
now with Excel 2003 a change needs more than one minute.
There seems to be a problem with the automatic recalculation.
