Centinel VxD

I have recently noticed that when I shut down my computer I get a message
that "Centinel VxD" is still open and should be shut down. Does anyone know
what Centinel VxD is, and where it comes from? I cannot find anything about
it and have not, to my knowledge, downloaded anything of that name.

in this case it's probably and usually a system hardware
or software file within a program file execution.

the system did not pick it up in a timely manner before
you shut the system down.
