VxD problems

Can anyone help with a problem I have when opening
Windows. The following message comes up;
AN EXCEPTION HAS OCCURRED AT 0028:C0049A48 IN VxD VFAT(01)
+ 00007838
THIS WAS CALLED FRON 0028:C1834F20 IN Vxd VxD voltrack(04)
I believe that it has something to do with the way
windows accesses the disk drives but no more than that!

A VxD driver? Under NT-based Windows? No. You don't use old VxD drivers
(that worked on DOS [with a Windows 9x GUI atop of it]) on Windows 2000/XP.
See the following KB article:

I think it was Windows 98 and after that started using WDM (Windows Driver
Model) drivers. While Windows 98/ME might support VxD drives, I don't think
the NT-based versions of Windows support VxD.

What drivers did you install lately? What 16-bit software did you install
lately (which demands a VxD driver)? Looks like you installed the Windows
95 version instead of the NT version.
