CDetectPNP

Occasionally when I click on a shortcut for a program the program will not
open.

I get the hour glass and a long wait.

When I shout down for a restart the machine freezes and I get an error
message saying it cannot locate CDetectPNR.

After reboot it seems to run ok.

I defragged the disc because it was running slowly and this seems to help
with the slow speed but did not help with the freezes.

I wouldn't click on that shortcut. I would run virus scan.

I just did that with Norton Symatics after I down loaded the latest virus
definations and the .exe file shows clean.

I run a scan once a week and and Webroot Spysweeper(tm) runs at boot.

Both programs are showing that c drive is clean.
