|I posted back on July 7 about having a problem with slow XP Pro. My machine
| is an IBM thinkpad, 1GB RAM, 1.7Ghz Pentium Processor, running XP Pro. I
| have SE Adaware, Spybot S&D, and WinAntiVirus Pro for adware, spyware, and
| viruses... Although it was running slow when I only had WinAVPro. I have run
| disk cleanup, defrag, all three of the above searches for malware, eliminated
| all unused software, and still my computer freezes up all the time. I'm
| debating uninstalling WINAVPro but I don't have any other anti virus
| protection, and I already paid for the subscription. Are there any other
| ideas of why my machine is running so slowly? I need help!!

Industry experts have never tested WinAnti-Virus Pro, and they haven't received any awards. We don't recommend this product.

Pros: none, did not install correctly, nor is it a tool worthwile to install
Cons: You will spend hours trying to remove this program, on install and first run it is useless and only prompts to buy the product, look in any spyware/malware forums for this product and you will spend hours reading of people trying to remove this program with no success, it will flood your browser with pop-ups and there is no simple way to remove it.. it IS malicisious code! Please remove it from this trusted site!!!

Pros: None.
Cons: WinAntiVirus tries to masquarade itself as an "anti-virus" software, but in fact tries to advertise itself by exploiting your ActiveX control features and thus makes annoying popups every half hour or so, no matter what site you visit - and ironically, you cannot stop this until you have a REAL anti-virus program to clean out the WinAntiVirus spyware/virus combo. The popups are designed to look like a part of Internet Explorer and Windows itself - as if endorsed by Microsoft. It is not.
