A 700 MB CD has a MS-Word file whose size is just 27 KB but WinXP says
the total size of the CD is only 283 MB (out of which 282 MB is free)!

How is Windows computing the total size of the CD to 283 MB when the
actual total size of the CD is 700 MB? Why isn't Windows accounting for
the remaining 417 MB?

Bob, does multi session CD gradually reduce the original total size of
a CD even if the CD contains only a 27 KB MS-Word file?

Thanks
