CD space question

S

shakey

I burned a CD-R with about 116MB of data some time ago.
Today I added about 165 MB more data.
What has me confused is when I read "R click, properties" using the disk in
my DVD/CD drive it shows Full at 165MB which is incorrect.
Using my CD drive to read it I see 165 used and 384 free which is also
incorrect.
Using Nero to read its properties I get:
Total capacity 32:06.39 283mb
Avail Cap 43:47.35 385mb
Track 1 multisession Joliet mode 1 116MB
Track 2 multisession Joliet mode 2 167MB

My question is which is right "appears to be Nero"? Why the discrepancies?
Had I not made this disk myself I wouldn't have a idea of space used/avail.
Thank you

Hi,

Properties in Windows Explorer only shows what is in the TOC of the disk
being looked at. It doesn't normally read free space on a CDR/CDRW unless
UDF software is installed and the disk being read is in that format.
