Copying Files to CD from Floppy Disk

I tried to copy files from my floppy disk onto a CD R/W disk. The files on
my floppy disk are not Read-Only, but show up as such on my CD. How can I
make these files not READ-ONLY files on my CD? I tried changing these CD
files using Control Panel/File/Properties, but it won't work. I also tried
using Windows Explorer.

Files on a CD (even a CD-RW) *are* read only.

This is an addendum to my post. Instead of Control Panel/File/Properties, it
should read My Computer/File/Properties.

AFAIK CD-RW disks are more like "write once, read many times" than truly
rewritable. They are not designed to have files amended easily unless you
use some kind of packet writing software such as Nero's InCD, which allows
the CD to behave more like a floppy disk.

Files place on a CD are always "Read Only". It does not matter where they came from.

You can't. Since a CD is a read-only device, all files are thus
read-only. I know, its an RW, but that does not make them writeable.
The one file written to the CD is written and that's it. The only way
to simulate a re-written file is to put a 2nd copy on the CD and change
the directory pointer, which also means writing a 2nd copy of the
directory since it too is read only. It can be done, but its not a
normal procedure, and thus you have read-only.
The side effect (if you got some program to do this) is that each change
has to leave the old file and old directory there and the space is used.
You can't erase it, the space on the CD is just ignored. So if you
re-write the same 100meg file 5 times, you can't do it again since you
now have 5 old copies and one good copy and the 5 old copies are just
consuming space and useless. So you basically reduced your 600Meg CD
to a 100Meg cd. What a waste.
I gave up using it since it was so useless, and of course a 1 gig thumb
drive is really r/w almost indefinitely and they are so cheap.
