CD-RW & DVD not recognised

Had the same problem on 2 puters but found the following help from another
tech site. Follow the instructions carefully. Always back up your regisrty
before making any changes.
Go to run,
type in regedit
go to the following folder.
(there will be numerous folders with the same name)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
click on each one until you find the one for DVD/CD-ROM drives. (this will
be the default file)
Delete the folder, not just the file.
Restart your computer.
WindowsXP will rebuild the folder when you restart your computer.
DVD/CD-ROM will now work properly.

I tried to find your magic option, but I failed. Please advise where this
option resides.

I too have a similiar problem with MS when trying to play my self recorded
DVDs and the MedicaPlayer11 with proper Cineplayer DVD Decoder Pack
installed- MS shows "Please insert disk into drive"; as a Shareholder I am
considering going to Apple--

Tried that, but with the following folder:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
It wouldn't let me delete the folder; tried in Safe Mode with the same
result. Is there a way to delete the entire folder?
