My CD-Rom will not read anything.I can'tinstall programs
from disc,my computer doesn't even reconize when a disc
is in the thing.(is it totally shot ,new drive or what)
thanks for listening.
 
try putting any good data disc in the drive and reboot...
see if it recognizes that the cd contains data in explorer
if that works, just always leave a disc in (at least until
MS comes up with a fix)
