In October I Installed Windows XP over a Linux System and
most everything seems to be working fine. Howeve when I
insert a Blank Disk in CD-Rom Drive (H) I get an error
message "please insert a Disk ito Drive H". ( I have
tried several brands of Disks with same results)When I
try to read Disk in My Computer I get same error
message ! The CD-Rom Drive works fine for Progame, Data,
Picture Disks ??? ...................PJ

I would update the drivers for the CD-ROM drive. There
may be some conflict or old drivers from Linux that are
messing you up.
Go to the manufacturers web site and look for updated
drivers for WinXP.

Good Luck.

Linux drivers and Windows drivers are two different drivers. You can not
use Linux drivers in Windows and vise versa.

CD / CD-RW / DVD / DVD writer all use the Microsoft standard drivers for
read only mode. XP can write to CD-R/RW but only as CD-R formats.
