CD ROM drive `memory'

My CD ROM and DVD ROM drives both seem to retain a `memory' of the last disk
inserted; even when the disk is removed and a new disk inserted. In the
worst cases, I have to reboot to get teh drives to recognise the new disk.
Would the drill with removing the drives from the device manager and
restarting fix this or is there something else wrong? Has anybody else had
this problem?

Thanks,

Rick

What happens when you open my computer then refresh the view (press F5)?
Have you turned off autorun with a registry hack?
