CD /R drive

My CD drive is not responding. I can't copy disc to my
computer anymore? Also, when inserting a disc to download
nothing happens or opens up anymore. What can I do to
check to see if working properly. The green light comes
on and the tray opens automatically and that is all that
is happening.
