CD playback problem

PLEASE someone help me out here. when playing CD's i get break-up ... as in
every so often there will be no sound which may last for a few seconds or
longer. my MP3's located on my hard drive play just fine. i've tried using
analog or digital and error correction or not and it doesn't seem to make a
difference. thanks, dan

Since you didn't tell us what soundcard you have, it's hard to be
specific. However, try 1) updating the soundcard drivers from the
mftr.'s site; 2) if that doesn't help, try moving the soundcard to a
different pci slot. In troubleshooting, always try one thing at a time
and test.

Try setting the drive to analog audio (the analog cable has to be
installed).
The setting is in the device manager.
