Last year, I had a problem where Autorun stopped working on my XP Home (SP2)
after 2 years of not problems, it also seemed to stop the drive icon updating
on "My Computer". I performed a clean install and then had not further
problems until I upgraded in January. After a complete system upgrade (mobo
cpu hd XP Pro), all my docs and settings transferred over fine, however, my
old problem of CD autorun has raised its ugly head again.
After much investigation, it appears that there is something setting
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControl\Set\Services\Cdrom to the value of 0. I fixed this
last week and it occured today again.
Also, I use Nero Image Drive (using a SCSI virtual controller) for testing
build disks, the autoplay functionality does not return on these Virtual
Drives when I make this amendment.
I am curious to find out what is changing the autoplay setting, has anyone
any ideas, also are there different values for the "NoDriveTypeAutoRun" reg
entry for SCSI drivers, Currently my system is set to 91 which works for my
IDE ones.
Thanks
