Autoplay problems with XP SP2

Since doing a clean rebuild of my XP including loading all latest
updates for XP (inc SP2) and Office 2000 my CDRW will not autoplay.
My seperate DVD drive is fine. Also in Windows Explorer, the CDRW
details (name and folders) does not refresh (in the left hand side of
the window) when a new CD is inserted although the right hand sides
(listing all folders and files) does refresh automatically. If I do a
manual refresh this works fine. Simply clicking the on CDRW in
Windows Explorer is enough to kick start autoplay. Finally, the CDRW
soemtimes misses certain files or cant read the CD (although it will
read fien in my DVD drive). The CDRW is set as a slave drive.

I have tried the following:-
1. check the register settings in line with MS areticle 330135
2. check autoplay selected on properties of CDRW
3. used Tweak UI to confirm autoplay settings correct.
4. deleted Real Player (heard this soemtimes causes the conflict)
5. ran the MS autoplay fix package - log extract below

My CDRW runs Nero for burning CDs(i've tried version 5.x and 6.x but
no differences). I do run Office 2000 and have heard this can cause
conflict on rare occasions but it took so long to down load all the
updates I dont want to unload this unless this is the problem - even
then I need Office functionality so this would not be a "good
solution".

In desperation I bought a new CDRW - but still no joy.

Any help gratefully received.

I hadn't but I have now. I de-installed both cdrom driver and the
secondary ide channel using hardware manager in Control Panel and
restarted PC. This reloaded drivers on start up. Still got the same
problem with my CDRW. Any other thoughts??

Thanks, Mike
