CD Desktop Shortcut Not Working

After downloading the most current critical updates, my desktop CD drive
shortcut icons no longer work. Is there a fix for this anywhere?

Have you tried recreating the shortcuts?

Open Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Microsoft
WindowsUpdate hotfix "821557"

Thanks. Uninstalling update 821557 did the trick.
