cd burner

I have a NEC DVD+RW CD/DVD burner, and I recently reinstalled XP Pro, and it
doesn't want to burn. It reads CD/DVD's fine, but no burning. First, when I
right click on a file I want to add to the cd, in the "Send To" tab, it no
longer has the option to send it to the CD/DVD burner. If I open up the
CD/DVD window through My Computer I can drag and drop files into the tempory
files waiting to be copied. Then, in the panel on the left where it says
"Write these files to CD" and "Delete temporary file" I click on either of
these and all that happens is a beep and nothing else. To delete the
temporary files I have to highlight and click delete. It worked fine before
when I had XP Pro, but since I've reinstalled it hasn't worked. I've tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the drive in the device manager, still nothing.
Any suggestions?

Sam, open MyComputer>rt click on Nec Drive and select
Properties>Recording. Check box Enable Recording on this
Drive.

It was already checked, but I unchecked, applied, rechecked and applied again
and nothing changed.

Perhaps you should use a third party utility. Thats what happened to me and I
use a different program and it burned fined.

Is there anything in the registry that I can change to make this work? I
would rather just use the integrated CD/DVD burning than using another
program. Thanks

I haven't really tried to fix my problem but I will mess around with Windows
to see if I can get it to work. I will keep you posted.
