Card Reader

Hi Everyone,

I have a new Dell computer running vista home Premium. I am having problems
with my card readers. They will read ok and I use safe removal method but the
device does not work next time. I get a message 'Windows cannot use this
hardware device because it has been prepared for "safe removal", but it has
not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)

To fix this problem, unplug this device from your computer and then plug it
in again.

I have to reset computer to take fault off usb mass storage device which
shows up in Device manager. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you possibly using safe removal and then not removing the device while
the system is still running and before you shut down?

Hi JW,
Thanks for the reply.

As soon as I get the message to remove mass storage device I do it right
away. I have just gone through it again. Plugged in SD card.(watching device
manager) Viewd files ,ll ok. Then clicked on task bar where device is shown
and stopped as requested. I wait for final messsage to remove SD card. As I
remove card the device manager shows a yellow fault flag aginst the mass
storage device and I cannot use it again until I reboot.
