Can't write to CD writer

Earl Gray

After installing the HP DLA software that allows drag & drop files my writer
HP9300i does not appear to Win XP as a writer.

Do I have to install the utility version of Roxio that comes with XP and
where do I get it or change the registry entries to allow writing??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Earl

If you format a CD-RW for drag and drop and have this CD in it will only show as another drive. The actual hardware should still list in the device manager as a CD-R. To use this device to burn CD's you will need the third party software. I recommend Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 or 6.

Did you right click on the drive and click "use with DLA"?

Do not install Roxio with DLA.

Did you just install DLA and not the burning program from HP?
