can't warm reboot

It never fails that my notebook XP Home install, before
and after the installation of the MS service packs and
updates, freezes on a warm reboot. Right before the first
loading screen should appear there is a pop, and then a
blank screen. Any ideas on where this problem lies?

This certainly sounds like a hardware issue. You should call the
notebook mftr.'s tech support.
