Can't view one computer

Hi. I am the host of an in-home wireless network. All the computers are
able to share files, print and see each other. However, one of the computers
cannot be seen by my computer, the host, yet can see all the others and use
their resources (files, etc). How do I get her computer to allow me access
to her shared files? I thought since I was the host, and she can see
everyone else's files AND mine, it would work both ways. But when I try to
access her shared files, I get a pop-up message telling me that her computer
is not accessible, that I may not have permission to use this resource, to
contact the administrator. I AM the administrator. It reads: "Logon
failure: The use has not been granted the request logon type at this
computer."
Is there anyone who can tell me what needs to be done on her computer to
allow me to see and share her files, or what has to be done on mine? Thank
you for any help you can offer.

Lori,

First, check for Local Security Policy properly setup on the target computer.

Next, check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry setting
restrictanonymous.

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely:

may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.

Chuck,
I usually can figure this one out, but I am stuck. There is now Windows
Firewall on on her computer. I tried the ipconfig thing but don't know what
I'm doing, although I did see her computer's name come up under one of the
categories. I am totally stumped. Why can she see me files and I can't
access hers although she is listed as one of my workgroup computers? I am
not following those blog site articles at all. Sorry for seeming so comp.
illiterate, and I'm usually not at all. I fix things all the time, including
major troubleshooting with aumha.

Lori,

Well the "Logon failure: The use has not been granted the request logon type at
this computer." error is almost always a Local Security Policy problem, when
it's XP Pro. When it's XP Home, it's another story. Either way, start here:

And if you don't feel frustrated, you're not really working. So congrats,
you're working.
