Hi there:
I just bought a new harddrive and installed XP pro on it, with the idea of
moving my files from the old HD to the new one, then using the old one as a
drive to backup my files onto.
My problem is I can not access the old files. I am getting access errors and
read-only errors. I have administrator priviledges, and even tried to do it
by going into safe mode.
Any tips on how I can do it?
Thanks

You need to take ownership of the files. Take a look here for
the procedure:
