Cant start

MY computer has broken three time in less than a year, its a dell lap top
5100. every time it breaks i bring it to best buy and every time they tell me
i need a new hard drive. I have had two hard drives in less than a year. now
my computer just stopped working. i was online using internet explorer and i
left the room than like 5 min. later i came back and hit the previous page
button and my computer froze. Than i turned it off by holding the on button.
now i cant even get past the blue welcome screen any mmore what is wrong? i
just scanned for viruses two days ago and i use AOLs spy ware i just scanned
for that as well. why does this keep happeneing?

Dell systems include a bootable XP setup CD. Set the BIOS to boot from it

How to boot from a CD:

Boot to the XP setup CD, and press 'r' for recovery console, run the command : CHKDSK /R
