Can't send or receive email in Outlook 2003 since last Windows Update KB911567

Since the last Windows Update I can't send or receive email! I just get an
"Unknown Error: 0x8007007F message after each account fails to connect.

In the Email accounts where I can "Test Account Settings..." both "Find
outgoing mail server (SMTP)" and "Find incoming mail server (POP3)" report
"Cancelled".

I've gone through each update and uninstalled each, one by one, rebooted,
then tried Outlook 2003 again. I uninstalled KB911562 (XP) that wasn't it.
I then uninstalled KB911567 (Outlook Express update), rebooted and tried
Outlook 2003 -- it works fine now.

What's going on?!

What operating system do you have? (XP, Windows 2000, ME, etc.)
Please include the Service Pack. You can find this by selecting
the CONTROL PANEL, Then select HELP from the menu,
then select ABOUT WINDOWS.
Do you have FrontPage Server Extensions on it?
What version of Outlook Express do you have?
Do you use Internet Explorer? If so, what version?

Hi Nikki,

Sorry, I should have included that info -- it was very late, I wasn't
thinking.

(1) Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 -- Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 : Service Pack 2)

(2) I don't *think* that I have FrontPage Server Extensions -- I don't use
FrontPage. I do have IIS 5.1 installed from the XP Professional CDROM.

(3) Microsoft Outlook Express 6 -- Version 6.00.2800.1106

(4) I have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 installed -- Version
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519IS. I tend not to use IE where
possible; I use Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and Opera 8.5.

Thanks.

There are many folks having problems with the Outlook
Express update (KB911567) as I'm sure you are aware
of by now.

Keep checking on the Microsoft site for information on
this update.
