Sorry if this type of question seems repetitive, but I can't find the
answer.... I have Vista with Windows Mail. Everything has been working
fine, then without changing anything, my mail won't send. It still can
receive. The mail goes to outbox, but can't be sent out of there.

I have Norton, but tried completely turning it off, but that does nothing.

As per the troubleshooting, I've made sure that my 'check auth" was not
checked.

I have tried restart also

I did not change any settings, so what can I do to fix this? Thanks in
advance!

Also... I don't receive any error messages.

For most versions of the Norton antivirus programs, disabling it is not
enough; you have to uninstall it to stop it from causing problems. You
then often need to download and run this program to clean up what
the uninstall left behind:

You sometimes even have to remove your email account under
Windows Mail, then restart Windows Mail and create the account again.

Most versions of the McAfee antivirus program also cause problems
in Windows Mail, and also a recent version of the Trend antivirus
program.

Also, try moving the messages in your Outbox to the Drafts folder or
deleting them. If any won't do either, download and install this hotfix
with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first.

If this cures your problem, you may want an antivirus program that
doesn't cause such problems in Windows Mail. I recommend either
avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install that tells it to leave
out the part that scans email.
