can't send emails now, used to

I recently found out I can't send emails through my laptop through my
wireless router. I called my local IP and the tech support had me send an
email through the wirelss router--did not go through. Then he had me connect
my computer directly to the modem instead of the wireless and it went
through. I have had my wirelss router about a 1 1/2 years and have not had
this type of problem. I can connect to the internet with no problem

When sending via wireless doesn't work, do you get an error message?
If so, right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

Sophie, most mail servers will only let you use them for sending if you
are connected to "Their" network. In other words to use the server
mail.example.net you must be connected to example.net.

With wireless it is possible your computer had found a strong radio
signal from some other network, maybe the apartment above or below or
the house next door. This could be a different service provider, so
although you might get internet access and everything appears to work,
their server will reject emails you send.

It's just an idea but the tech support may have missed this and so give
them a call back and ask if they can check and make sure you are
connecting to their router via wireless and not accidentally to someone
close by.
