It was working fine up until an hour ago. The POP address is correct . . .
I can receive emails without any problem, just can't sent anything.

the error says:

"Email connection lost
One or more messages cannot be sent. "

I am using McAfee - any suggestions

Uninstall McAfee. It is becoming increasingly apparent that it is
incompatible with Windows Mail. You might need to check their website on
how to completely rid the machine of it.

Then remove your mail account, close and reopen WinMail and add it back
again.

Things should work then. There are a number of much less invasive antivirus
programs (not Norton) out there.

check also that outgoing authentication is ticked.

I've recently uninstalled McAfee - web performance was so slow. Now with
Norton it is so sweet

You jumped from the frying pan into the fire.

Norton is as bad or worse.
