Can't Search From Address Bar

I don't know what happened but all of a sudden I am unable
to search by typing in the address bar. I get an
error.. "the page cannot be displayed".... Ive checked my
settings, reinstalled IE6 and still it doesnt display. If
I type "google" in ... i get this back "http:///?%
20google" and i am gettin very frustrated... I am running
win2000 and IE6. I have done the latest updates and
patches.....
Please help

Hi

I don't know if this will help - it's the simplest thing
to check first:
1. Go to: Tools - Internet Options
2. choose the Advanced tab;
3. scroll down until you see the first magnifier glass;

you should be able to allow your browser to search from
the address bar there.
