Can't save password

I'm using XP Home Edition and Outlook Express. When I check my mail I have to input my password. The "save my password" box is grayed out and the password is NOT saved. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Tools>drop down
Accounts>select the one you use and click proporties
In the server tab select remember password
