Can't save images in .jpg or eny other format other than Bitmap

Please help!

I' can't save images (from the internet only) in any
format other than Bitmap.
When I' save the image, the 'save as' option,
it's only Bitmap.
It saves JPG images as Bitmam and the size is as big as
3MB???

And something else.
The folder view settings, are not staying the way
I' want.
If for example set a folder in thumbnails view,
it will change to defolt settings (tiles) after
I' close it.
This it's not happening with all the folders.
(The, Control Panel/Folder Options/View/Remember each
folder's view settings, tick box is checked)

When your Temporary Internet Files buffer is full all images are saved as
bitmap. Empty the buffer. In IE click Tools, Internet Options, under
Temporary Internet Files click Delete Files.

Basically, you need to clean up your temporary Internet files.
