I' can't save images in any format other than Bitmap

Please help!

I' can't save images (from the internet only) in any
format other than Bitmap.
When I' save the image, the 'save as' option,
it's only Bitmap.
It saves JPG images as Bitmam and the size is as big as
3MB???

And something else.
The folder view settings, are not staying the way
I' want.
If for example set a folder in thumbnails view,
it will change to defolt settings (tiles) after
I' close it.
This it's not happening with all the folders.
(The, Control Panel/Folder Options/View/Remember each
folder's view settings, tick box is checked)

and
the temp folder is set to hold 1,23GB
but is 4GB now and going up

Hi, Chris -

On the bitmap thing - delete your Temporary Internet
Files. From within IE, select Tools --> Options and then
click the "Delete Files" button.
