Can't run dxdiag

When i try to run a directx diagnostic (run, dxdiag, ok),
i get an error saying that dxdiagn.dll is not a valid
windows image. this is causing a conflict with some progs.
and software such as halo. please feel free to e-mail me
with a solution.

Have you "tweaked" any of the Services in Control Panel/Administrative
Tools/Services? If so, you may want to turn them back on. If you have
additional issues, you should report them to one of the DirectX newsgroups
where it is supported, and include which version you're running.
