System response has slowed down horribly lately and when
trying to run system cleanup and disk defrag, I got an
error message that said that the scan could not continue
because of an error in "C:\System Volume
Information\_restore{B6CEOD36-26EC-4684-9219-545B7B40A7DB}-
\RP293\A0045287.TXR"

What's up? I can't find this file. How do I find this
file and either correct it or delete it? I need to run
defrag. This thing's running like my old 486 piece of
crap....

Go to Control Panel, System, System Restore. Turn off System Restore,
reboot and then turn it back on. This will flush your old System Restore
points and create a new restore point. The problem file will be gone.

Go to run,type:cmd
At the curser type:Sfc /Scannow
When the graph starts, install xp cd,exit the info page,
when the graph is thru,remove cd,type:CHKDSK C: /F
agree to run on restart, then type:EXIT Reboot comp.
On desktop,open cmd,type:cleanmgr Run cleanup
Then type:Defrag C: (C: the hd) Then exit cmd.After
next reboot run the two from explorer.Try running from
cmd periodically, they can improve the utilitys performace.

It's a hidden file in a hidden system folder. Turn off system
restore, reboot, and then turn it back on. The error should go away.
