Cant repair XP Pro

Have continuing "finalizing installation" message running
across top of Explorer. Have tried to re install XP Pro
but wont let me as installation of this software is not
complete. Only culprit i can think of is an update but
have now uninstalled all of them and XP still wont let me
re install OS. Any ideas please?

Reformat and start over.

I would set your PC to boot from the CD-ROM and boot to the XP installation
disc. From there, choose a Repair Installation. If that doesn't work, then
you may be better off with a Cean Installation. Before doing that, copy all
your important stuff, including downloaded programmes, as it will format the
hardrive.
