can't receive & send mails through proxy server

I can't receive and send mails through a proxy server. However, everthing
works fine when I'm using a connection without a proxy server. Any help would
be much appreciated. Thanks

It would help if you post a lot more about your configuration.
Version of Outlook?
Type of account?
Error message when you try?
Do you actually have permissions to use the proxy server for traffic other
than http? Ask your admin if you do not know.
