I keep getting this message up when clicking send receive:The connection to
the server has failed. Account: 'pop.sky.com', Server: 'pop.sky.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0E, i have been able to send mail and have done all the
checks for pass words and incomming and out going server info, have followed
the proper set up for windows mail as given by sky, can any one help

That sounds like an antivirus or antispam program is interfering. Disable
all such options within your antivirus/antispam program and see if the
problem is fixed. For what it's worth, i can telnet to "pop.sky.com" on
port 110 w/o problem, so it's something on your machine that is scanning
mail that's causing the problem.

computers, but did what was suggested and turned off all my norton security
as far as i am aware that is it? still got this message; The connection to the
server has failed. Account: 'pop.sky.com', Server: 'pop.sky.com', Protocol:

I'd suggest that you uninstall Norton completely and then reboot the
computer. Norton and McAffee both have a lengthy history of causing
problems for mail users and there are many free and low cost programs
available that do not cause the problems that Norton/McAffee do. It's your
computer, and it's your choice. Many users of Windows Mail use AVF free
from www.grisoft.com since it does not cause problems for mail
sending/receiving. Good luck.

As Jim already suggested, uninstall Norton completely. It is not compatible
with Windows Mail. Afterwards, if your mail still does not work, make a new
mail account in Windows Mail, with the same settings as the old account.
Try it again. Mail accounts can get corrupted from intrusive antivirus programs.

Make sure you install a less intrusive antivirus program, such as the
free Avast. Regardless of which antivirus you use, always turn off
the option for email scanning.

When I open my work email from my home computer I am not able to respond to
any emails. The emails open, I can read them, but if I hit "reply" a little
box with a red X it it comes up and it won't let me reply. Can anyone help me?
