can't read messages formatted in html. html messages blank. Outlo.

outlook 2003 messages i receive that have been formatted html appear with a
blank message box. Plain text messages appear fine. This seems to be a result
of updating from outlook 2000.

I don't use Outlook 2003, but I did a search on Google, and found the
following information in a university paper:

Outlook now blocks automatic downloading and displaying of pictures when you
open an HTML email message. This feature helps protect your privacy. Pictures
in HTML email can require Outlook to download the pictures from a server, and
communicating with an external server in this way can verify to the sender
that your email address is valid. This verification can possibly make you the
target of more
junk mailings.
When you open an HTML email with a picture, a banner will appear at the top
of the message informing you that pictures have not been downloaded. You can
click on this banner to display the following options:
•Download pictures.
•Change automatic download settings.
•Add sender to safe senders list.
•Add the domain of the current sender to the safe senders list.
