Can't print

when i try to print a microsoft word document, it says it's printing but my
printer never starts to print it. After i hit "print" the print preview
doesn't come up. It's supposed to, but its just not coming up. someone help!!
 
can you print from other programmes?

have you tried printing a test page from the printer icon on the control
panel?
