Can't open xlxs files with my Office 2000 xl program.

Is it possible to modify the .xlsx files that the newer XL programs produce
so that I can open them with my older program?

You need to save them in Excel 97-2003 format... in Excel 2007, then you can
open and edit in earlier versions...
