Can't open attached emails from Outllook 2003 in Outlook 2000

Kevin our vendor can't open my attachments...Possibly a version conflict? I
just got a new computer & have Microsoft Office 2003 (11.80026568) SP2...Kev
has Microsoft Office 2000 SP3
From Kevin the Vendor:
When I try to open Brian's attachments where as before I had no problem, I
get a pop-up saying, "Unable to read the item."

Attachments from Brian on his older email version had the envelope icon and
worked fine. After he received his new computer and version of Office,
attachments from him had an Outlook icon and a .msg extension and I can no
longer view them.

Ideas?

That is because he uses Outlook 2003 with a UNICODE pst/ost file (new file
format for pst/ost which by default allows up to 20GB of storage). Things
should be OK if he configures it with a ANSI pst/ost file. Or otherwise;
send in a different format or upgrade your version of Outlook.
