can't map with local administrator account!

Hi:
I seem to have a problem mapping a drive with from one XP
machine to another with the administrator. I have to
create a GUEST account to be able to do that. But when our
system was running Windows NT Workstation machines, we
were able to map from one machine to another with the
built in local administrator account. We DO NOT have a
domain on the network because we are novell based. We just
map from machines through the workgroup network.
what should i do?
thanks
