Can't logon

Hi,
I have a XP-Pro installed on my machine. It got infected
by Korgo virus. After removing the virus, I am not able
to login to windows XP. As soon as I click on the login
name it, starts processing and logs me off without even
showing the desktop.

I tried resetting the user profile. I even tried the safe
mode, safe mode with command prompt, last know good
configuration and by trying to log in as a administrator
also but was not successfull.

I have even tried reinstalling windows xp in the same
folder by giving the repair option. but still am not able
to logon.

The machine is accessible from the Local Area Network and
I am able to print on the printer connected to this
machine from my network.

Please give me the solution. The only other option left
open otherwise is to format the disk and reinstall
everything.

You have already attempted a repair install and it failed. It would appear
that the virus has damaged the existing installation to the point that the
repair was ineffective.

Have you checked the documentation available about the virus by looking it
up at the website for your antivirus software? There's a slim chance that
you could repair this across the network using that information.

If that fails, there's no telling how much damage was done or where and
that you're down to your last option of reinstalling everything from
scratch.
