I was at a friends house and we had 6 coputers set up to
play some games using 2 hubs. While I was there the
laptop worked fine. When I brought it home and tired to
turn it on it would only go to the blue screen where you
select your login account and would stop. I tried to
start it up in safe mode and last good known
configuration but both of those would get stuck on the
same screen as trying to start it normally. Any help
would be appreciated.

When you were at your friend's house, did you do anything to your computer
to get it to work on that system (join a Workgroup perhaps)?

If so, your computer is still probably searching for that workgroup. My
experience is that XP will "remember" what workgroups were there for a while
and then "forget" about them after a short time (a few hours).

You might want to boot up and just let the machine "sit" at the screen you
seem to be stuck at for a while.

If nothing else works you might try running a repair. You
get to repair from your Windows XP CD. Boot from your CD
and read the screens closely. The process will see your
current installation and ask if you want repair your
existing XP installation. You might have to reload
service packs or patches you installed but it leaves the
rest of your programs and settings intact.
