can't log on to windows

just upgraded to xp pro, every time i type my password to
log onto windows, it asks if i forgot my password and wont
let me in. any advice? thanks.

Try booting into Safe Mode and use the Administrator account log on to
access the system. You can then go into Control Panel->User Accounts and
reassign a password to the account you generally log on with.
