Can't install Windows XP Professional

J

Joseph

I'm having a very strange problem installing WinXP, when
booting from the CD-ROM and going into the text setup,
one of two things will happen.

Either A) The system will completely hang when it
says "Setup is now starting Windows" or B) The keyboard
will freeze up when the Press F3, enter, or R menu pops
up, preventing me from continuing.

I also receive many different STOP errors periodicaly
while trying to install.

I'm using a Biostar M7VIT Pro motherboard, with an Athlon
2400+, 512 MB PC2100 Crucial RAM, and a 64 MB Gainward
GeForce4 MX 440.

ANY help would be appreciated, thanks
Joseph

Before running Setup, run a Compatibility Check operation from the CD. It
may well be that some of your hardware is not compatible with Windows XP, or
with other hardware on your system.

I am having a similar problem with my system, running on a Biostar
M7VIB, 128MB Viking DDR, ATI Radeon 7000 AGP. I know its not a
hardware compatibility issue, I have already installed XP on an
identical system.
Any other thoughts?
