Cant install Vista

I have the Vista Ultimate I am trying to install on my laptop, but something
aint jivin'.I know it is 32 bit, done all the pre-downloads to install it,
but for some reason it wont go. My light for my battery goes off as soon as I
boot the machine up, then it says it is running on battery, yet it's plugged
in. My hubby don't know how to do anything here (literally) any help would be
appreciated. Thanks

had a similiar problem installing sp2 for xp so I went into the device
manager and disabled battery contol
