Can't install update

When I try to install Office XP Service Pack 1 (English
version)I get the following message:
Error 1328 Error applying patch to
file :\Config.Msi\PT183.tmp May have been updated
already, see system administrator
and the installation is terminated.
What can I do to install this update?

attempting to upgrade microsoft office, it requires office xp service pack 1 (english version).What shall i do
