can't install recovery console after updating to SP2

Hi to everybody

I installed sp2 the other day, everything is fine. But when I tried to
install de recovery console so that its opcion apears on the F8 menu from my
original XP cd-rom, I get a message saying that the OS on my HD is newer than
the one on the cd and dosent let me install it. Of course I can alway get to
the console executing it from de cd, but I would like to install it on my
hard disk. Any ideas?

Hi

If you have upgraded to SP2 and you are using a CD from a previous version
of XP, you will see that error message. To install the Recovery Console in
SP2, you will need to create a slipstreamed SP2 CD.

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can copy the xpsp2.exe file from
that CD onto your hard disk/partition and use that:

WinXP Pro SP2 install CD. Woot!
